More than five years after the surgery, the patient is living an active and fulfilling life again. The debilitating nerve pain that once dominated everyday life is gone, mobility has been preserved, and long periods of sitting, traveling, hiking, and physical activity are once again possible. I coped very well with the surgery. The intensive care in the days following was excellent. After three days, with the support of the physiotherapist, I was able to stand up with a walking frame and take my first steps. I was discharged home on the sixth day after the surgery.
