Why I, as an Engineer, Vetted Dr. Desai for My ADR Surgery
I would like to share my experience with Dr. Desai and his team, for anyone considering artificial disc replacement (ADR) surgery and seeking reassurance or information about the process. I had a long journey of back pain, which escalated to the point of impacting my ability to function daily.
I started researching and through others bravery, posting their experience online, I was able to find Dr. Desai, and from my very first contact with him, I felt at ease. Dr. Desai answered all my initial questions promptly (and I had a lot of them), and I was provided with clear, comprehensive explanations of all the treatment options available. This level of transparency and the attentive communication from Dr. Desai encouraged me to proceed with the surgery. I had ADR at S1-L5 and L5-L4, two levels, in 2019 at the age of forty-three (43).
The surgery itself, as well as my hospital stay, went smoothly. The medical team was extremely professional, and I felt well cared for throughout the entire process. I did not experience any complications, attributed to Dr. Desai’s incredible skills, expertise, and the excellent standards of care at the hospital. I have never experienced the level of care, attention, focus and professionalism like I had with Dr. Desai and his amazing team. The recovery process progressed steadily, and I noticed significant improvement in my symptoms immediately. The reduction in pain and the return of mobility have had a profoundly positive impact on my quality of life. I have recovered, stronger than ever and living life to its fullest, without restrictions. More importantly, with ADR, I know I will not have future problems that are guaranteed with fusions and other mobility limiting procedures.
Throughout my treatment, I felt genuinely supported and looked after—not only by Dr. Desai but also by his entire team. The empathy and dedication they showed made a world of difference to my overall experience. If I found myself in a comparable situation again, I would not hesitate to have the surgery with Dr. Desai. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone who is considering back surgery or artificial disc replacement.
I am always happy to speak with others who are researching back surgery or have questions about my personal experience. I am an engineer by profession, my wife calls it a disease of its own as I over analyze most things, which I did in my research into Artificial Disc Replacement (ADR), learning there is no better doctor, surgeon or professional like Dr. Desai, and trust me I left no stone unturned across Europe, Asia, and the USA… consulting, meeting and validating. I consider myself truly fortunate to have found Dr. Desai—a world-class surgeon, an exceptional doctor, and an all-around good person.
If you are considering surgery, I hope my testimonial helps you in your decision-making process. Do not wait any longer, time is precious and improving your life is a phone call away. I highly recommend consulting with Dr. Desai and asking for references from people like me, who can speak with you about our experience.
